YORKSHIRE is set to be represented either by a flat cap, a Yorkshire pudding, a Yorkshire terrier, a white rose or a teapot in a cosy on phone keyboards around the world.
Broadband provider Plusnet has unveiled the themed emoji to mark Yorkshire Day on Monday, the most popular of which in a vote on its on its Facebook and Twitter channels will be submitted for inclusion on Android and iPhone keyboards. The firm said the emoji had been inspired by the heritage of God’s Own County and the winning emoji would follow in the footsteps of the taco, avocado and Finland becoming the first country to get its own set of emoticons last November, including sauna and headbangers symbols.
