The Auralio String Quartet will be giving a lunchtime concert on Thursday, April 4 at St Andrew’s Church in Grinton from 1pm.

This year they have been joined by two new members Jonathan Acton and Kate Waterworth who played at a schools’ concert at St Andrew’s last year as part of the Keld Ensemble.

The group will be presenting a programme to include works by Haydn, Borodin and the Estonian composer Arvo Part. There is no entry charge but donations to the church will be accepted.

BENEFIT CONCERT: Composer and multi-instrumentalist Gina Leishman will be performing at Reeth Memorial Hall on Friday, April 5 from 8pm.

She composes for theatre, opera, dance, film, television and concert stage and leads several ensembles including a quintet dedicated to the songs of Bertolt Brecht and others performing her own compositions.

She will be singing the benefit concert for the Swale Singers, covering jazz, music hall and cabaret.

Tickets are £10 on the door or from Reeth Post Office. For further details call 01748-886475 or email andrew.horn127@btinternet.com
