TALL ship The Lord Nelson cut a majestic sight as she sailed out of the mouth of the Tyne yesterday.

The ship, which is operated by the Jubilee Sailing Trust, spent the Easter weekend berthed at Spiller’s Wharf in Newcastle as part of her latest voyage.

The Lord Nelson was purpose-built more than 30 years ago to enable people with a range of disabilities to experience sailing.

She set out from London earlier this month and made her way up the east coast, before stopping first in Sunderland and then in Newcastle, where she was shown off to the public.

The 50-strong crew, which includes a team of professionals, are also raising funds for a variety of charities.
