THE occupants of three vehicles have walked away uninjured after colliding on the overtaking lane of northbound A19.
The incident, which happened after 1pm, about two miles north of Hangman's Lane.
The incident involved a silver saloon car, a white van and a black Vauxhall Corsa, which hit the central reservation.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said no one sustained an injury in the collision.
He added a lane was blocked following the collision and officers were working to clear the accident scene.
Motorists have reported lengthy tailbacks in the area.
