PILGRIMS from across the country have walked over 100 miles from Carlisle to Lindisfarne carrying a large wooden cross.
Here they are pictured crossing the causeway to Holy Island in Northumberland on Good Friday.
The Northern Cross pilgrimage has been going to 40 years.
The group retraced centuries old pilgrim pathways and slept in church halls as they braved the elements on their expedition.
