ART: The cover of New Rose by The Damned
WORK by an artist who designed the record sleeves for some of punk rock’s most memorable bands has gone on display at an exhibition in Sunderland.
Chris Morton, from Hexham, studied at Northumbria University and designed under the name C-More-Tone.
A former art director with Stiff Records, he designed sleeves and posters for The Clash, Madness, The Damned and Ian Dury and the Blockheads.
An exhibition of his work has opened at Pop Recs, in Stockton Road and runs until February 26.
