A NORTH-EAST adventurer has reached home after becoming the youngest person to circumnavigate the world by motorcycle solo – and has said his next plan is to fly around the world.

Kane Avellano, 23, of South Shields has travelled over 32,000 miles in just under eight months, covering 35 different countries in six continents.

The 23-year-old, from South Shields, South Tyneside, was met at home by girlfriend Luci Manukyan, 26, and friends and family.

He said: “The past eight months have been the most exciting in my life. “The next thing I want to do is to fly around the world and become the first person to do it by land and air.”

Kane has faced many dangers, including torrential Monsoons in India where he travelled along the highest navigable road in the world, where he nearly launched off a cliff.

He has also encountered blistering desert rides in Australia, and powerful storms in South America.

Miss Manukyan, 26, of Hebburn said: “It has been quite challenging. I have learned a thing or two about patience.

“We will have been together for nearly two years – a third of that he has been away.”

While travelling, the Mr Avellano has been raising money for the charity Unicef.
