TWO teenagers have been treated in hospital after taking an unknown substance.
The boys, aged 16 and 14, each took four small red tablets and were taken to hospital by ambulance.
Both were kept in the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle overnight and have since been discharged.
The incident happened at Longbenton on Tyneside on Saturday and police are warning about the dangers of taking unknown substances.
Chief Inspector Aidan Sloan said: “We want to identify who is responsible for providing these items so that we can stop any more of these substances being supplied to young people.
“Taking any unknown substances is incredibly dangerous and in some cases can even be fatal”.
