A TEENAGE girl has been injured in a hit-and-run.

The 14-year-old girl was knocked over in Sunderland on Saturday night.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, thought to be a black 4x4, drove off after the incident, which happened at around 9.40pm outside Riverside Health Centre in Borough Road.

The girl was treated in hospital for her injuries, which are not thought to be received hospital treatment for her injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
