POLICE arrested a man on drugs offences after a crash in Sunderland.
Just after midnight on Thursday police were called to a takeaway on Newbottle Street in Houghton to reports that a man had been involved in a collision.
"Officers attended and found a large quality of what is suspected to be cannabis in the vehicle," said a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police.
"The 20-year-old driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply.
"He has since been released from custody, but officers are still carrying out enquiries and have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward."
