POLICE are appealing for information after the death of a man who was pulled from the sea on a North-East beach today (Wednesday August 19).
The ambulance service informed police of the recovery of the man from the North Sea, at Seaburn Beach, in Sunderland, at about 2.25pm.
Although paramedics tried to resuscitate the man at the scene, he was pronounced dead.
Northumbria Police is now trying to establish how he came to be in the water.
They have appealed to anyone in the area of the beach at the time to come forward.
Officers were said to be in the vicinity making initial inquiries.
