Man dead after car found in river
THE body of a man was found in a car in the River Tyne in Newcastle.
Police are appealing for information after the car was found in the river at Merchant Wharf in Walker.
"At 10.40am this morning police received a report of a car in the river. Emergency services attended and the car was recovered from the water," said a spokesman for Northumbria Police.
"The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquiries are being carried out to establish the circumstances."
