A MAN and a woman were killed and a second woman was seriously injured in a three-car crash today (Wednesday, April 8).
A blue Nissan Micra, a silver Vauxhall Astra and a third vehicle collided near Hartford Bridge, Northumberland, shortly after noon.
A man from the Micra and a woman from the Astra were pronounced dead at the scene.
A second woman, also from the Astra, was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, with serious injuries.
The A192 between Hartford Village and A1068 Plessey Checks roundabout was closed for some time for police to investigate the smash.
