THE Arts Council has announced details of capital grants awarded to a handful of organisations in the North-East.
Dance City, based in Newcastle, has received £198,608 to provide better facilities for artists and students.
It intends to reduce its carbon emissions through more efficient heating and lighting.
The Amber Film and Photography Collective, also based in Newcastle, has been awarded £110,000 towards its AmberSide Collection, which documents working class culture.
Other awards have been made to Washington Arts Centre (£257,609), in Wearside, and The Maltings Theatre and Arts Centre (£141,608), in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
