AWARD-WINNING comedy featuring Norman Pace is coming to the North-East.

The comic is appearing with Gavin Spokes and Emma Barton in One Man, Two Guvnors at the Sunderland Empire this week.

Directed by Nicholas Hytner, the National Theatre run starts on Wednesday and ends on Saturday.

It tells the story of Francis Henshall who, fired from his skiffle band, becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe.

But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother, who's been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers.

Claire Pickersgill, press officer for the Sunderland Empire, said: “It has been described as a glorious celebration of British comedy. It is a unique, laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, slapstick and glittering one-liners.”

The production is based on Richard Bean’s version of Carlo Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy, The Servant of Two Masters and has songs by Grant Olding, performed by The Craze.

Tickets available in person at the box office from £10 or from £11.90 from the Ticket Centre on 0844-871-3022 or online at www.ATGtickets.com/Sunderland.
