POLICE are to hold an open day at a mosque.
Officers from Northumbria Police will hold the event at the Laygate Mosque in South Shields on Saturday, November 22, from 1pm to 4pm.
Neighbourhood Inspector John Smith said: "Open days such as these are a great way for us to meet members of the public in a more informal setting than other public meetings.
"We understand people don't always feel comfortable speaking out at such meetings and we're always keen to find alternative ways to talk to people and hear about any concerns they have”.
