SHOCKING video shows the moment a man was knocked down by a car as he was running along a street.
The footage was filmed by a passer-by in Peterlee during what became a 5-hour stand-off with police.
The incident started on Tuesday afternoon when police received calls that a man was driving a red SEAT recklessly in the Little Eden area.
As crowds gathered, two armed response units and specially trained negotiators arrived along with Fire and Rescue, Ambulance Service and the police helicopter.
Police negotiators spoke with the suspect, who at one point was on the roof of the house. He was brought down around 9.30pm and arrested.
