FREE weekly sessions covering the fundamentals of practical cookery on a budget are being launched for men.

Chef Man workshops, run by Wellbeing for Life, are aimed at men who want to feel more confident in the kitchen.

They will be held at the Blackhall Community Centre, from 10.30am to 12.30pm on four sonsecutive Mondays starting on March 27, excluding the Bank Holiday on April 17.

Wellbeing Development Officer Andy Burn said: “On this course we will cover all the areas of cookery you need to know to build your skills, confidence and enjoyment of cooking for yourself and others.

“By the end of the course you will be able to cook a range of healthy starters, main courses and delicious desserts.”

The Wellbeing for Life service provides support to people to live well in County Durham, by helping address factors which influence their health and build their capacity to be independent, resilient and maintain good health for themselves and those around them.

Limited spaces are available on the men-only course.
