A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy whose battle with cancer has touched the world joined dozens of helpers to open some of the thousands of Christmas cards sent to him.
A mass posting was sparked by a social media campaign to brighten up Bradley Lowery’s Christmas, after his parents’ announced that the cancer had returned and was now terminal.
Bradley of Blackhall, County Durham, has a rare childhood cancer, neuroblastoma.
Everton gave £200,000 towards his treatment in September. Then one of their fans suggested a card appeal in his name which triggered an outpouring of love and kindness.
Royal Mail has a special section of their sorting office just for mail for the Sunderland fan.
Mum Gemma said: “He is loving it, he really is. He is a bit tired from the radiotherapy but he loves to be centre of attention.
“He’s really looking forward to Christmas. This is all just so overwhelming.”
