A HARRY Potter fan has had her Christmas tree declared magic by none other than J.K. Rowling herself.

Kathryn Burnett, from Seaham, County Durham, was so proud of her Hogwarts inspired creation that she posted it on Facebook.

A friend of Miss Burnett's then posted a photo on Twitter and cheekily asked the millionaire author's opinion.

The Northern Echo:

The Tweet liked by J.K. Rowling

Rowling, who has almost nine million followers on the Social Media site gave the tree a 'like'.

In addition, the post of Facebook has had more than 25,800 shares and 3,600 responses.

"I'm still in shock at the moment at the response my little tree has had," said Ms Burnett. "A few of my friends had tweeted the tree to J.K. Rowling and she liked it! I really can't get over it!"

Miss Burnett is something of a Potter obsessive.

"I'm a huge Harry Potter fan," she said. "I've been to the Warner Bros studio tour 11 times and every time I've gone I added to the collection.

"A lot of the decorations aren't tree decorations, but I've managed to attach them. It started off where I was doodling a little idea then I got really excited about it and gave it a go. The more I collected the more excited I got about completing it.

"It took eight hours to complete. I just put everything on I loved and didn't expect this response. I didn't expect this many people to share, like, comment or message me about it as it's not a very traditional tree."
