A MAN wielding a machete robbed an off-licence in east Durham.

A police spokesman said the raider entered the Booze Buster, in York Road, Peterlee, at 9.30pm on Monday.

The man threatened the two female assistants with the machete and demanded cash, before making off off in the direction of Cambridge Road.
