EVENTS are being held to support people who have fallen victim to loan sharks.
Three events will be held in Shotton Colliery Community Centre to offer free help to people targeted by illegal money lenders.
East Durham Homes is working with the National Trading Standards Illegal Money Lending Team and NEFirst Credit Union to run the events.
They will take place on Monday, September 26 from 11.30am to 3pm; Wednesday, September 28 from 10.30am to 1.30pm and on Friday, September 30 from 11am to 3pm.
Heather Wake, from East Durham Homes, said: “If you think you are a victim of illegal money lending, this is nothing to be ashamed of as help is at hand.
“Officers at our events can offer free and confidential advice on the next steps to take if you think you have been targeted”.
