FIREFIGHTERS freed a woman from the wreckage of her car following an accident on the A19 last night.
Two cars were involved in the accident which occurred on the northbound carriage way near Peterlee.
Three fire engines attended the incident after being alerted by the police at 7.40pm.
One woman was freed from her car and taken to the University Hospital of North Tees.
Two other women were taken to Sunderland District General Hospital.
The nature of their injuries is not yet known.
