POLICE are appealing for information after two passengers in a car were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in left the road and collided with a lamp-post at the weekend.
A Durham Police spokesman said a Peugeot 206 was travelling west from Maureen Terrace onto Dene Road, Dalton-le-Dale, near Seaham, when it failed to negotiate a left-hand bend and left the road before hitting metal railings and a concrete lamp post.
The accident happened just before 2.30am on Saturday, April 12.
The front seat passenger, an 18-year-old man from Seaham, suffered a suspected broken left arm.
The rear passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Seaham, sustained a laceration to her forehead and a suspected fractured cheek bone.
Both were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital. The driver, a 17-year-old youth, also from Seaham, was uninjured.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the car shortly before the incident happened should contact PC Phillip Hardman, of the road policing unit on the non-emergency number 101.
