DURHAM Quakers invite anyone interested in knowing more about their faith to join them at the weekend for the launch of family and friends sundays.
The group are starting a monthly event to encourage people to join them in Alington House, North Bailey, in Durham, for an informal lunch at 12.15pm on the fourth Sunday of any month.
It will give people the opportunity to chat to local Quakers in an informal setting to find out more about what they do.
From 11am to noon on Sunday there will be a fun and messy session for children, while adults are welcome to join the usual Quaker Meeting before lunch if they would like to.
Annette Morris, who helps to lead the childrens’ messy sessions, said “We’d love to see more young families being part of Quakers in Durham and we hope that Family and Friends Sundays will give people the chance to try us out in a fun and informal way, although childrens’ activities are provided every week from 11.00am”
