A PASSENGER was injured after the bus they were travelling on crashed into some scaffolding.

The incident happened in Durham on Tuesday morning, when a bus travelling from Middlesbrough to Newcastle collided with some scaffolding in Church Street.

One passenger on the X12 Arriva service suffered minor injuries.

Nick Knox, area managing director for Arriva North East said: “We can confirm that one of our buses on the X12 route from Middlesbrough to Newcastle was involved in an incident yesterday morning on Church Street, in Durham.

“An investigation is currently on going to understand the cause. “Unfortunately one of our passengers suffered minor injuries and we have been in contact with them to make sure they are ok.”
