The family fun day featured equine displays, sheep shearing, cattle weighing, floristry and dog agility demonstrations, birds of prey, archery, Punch and Judy shows, a zip line and the chance to see farm yard animals and creatures in the small animal care centre.

There was also be a plant sale, craft stalls fairground rides and face painting.

Alistair Cummins-McLeod, of the college’s events planning team, said: “It was the first time we held the Spring Show in the newly-developed site and we were extremely pleased with how it went. It was a fantastic opp to show of the new facilities.

“We had some very positive feedback, with many people coming on line and saying well done.”

Visitor Liz Smith: “The horses were beautifully turned out, well schooled and in excellent condition.

“The students demonstrated an in depth understanding of the requirements of the displays, timing and tempo, very well prepared riding, developing their ability, as well as looking immaculate, smart, bright and cheerful.”
