SANTA’S sleigh will be flying around Durham in the lead-up to Christmas.

Santa Claus is going on tour around the city to raise money for local charities.

He was invited by the Rotary Club on Durham to visit seven locations this month.

His first appearance will be in High Shincliffe on Friday, December 2, between 6pm and 8pm.

Other visits include Poplar Tree Garden Centre, Shincliffe, between on Saturday and Sunday.

He will be outside Iceland at Dragonville Industrial Estate on Friday, December 9 and Wednesday, December 21; outside B&M , Durham City Retail Park, Gilesgate, on Saturday, December 10 and Tuesday, December 20; outside Tesco at Dragonville Industrial Estate on Sunday, December 11 and Friday, December 16; and outside Sainsbury’s at the Arnison Centre on Sunday, December 18 and Monday, December 19.

He will also be paying a visit to Durham Market Place on Saturday, December 17.

Children will be able to visit Santa between 10am and 4pm.

Donations will be taken for the Rotary Club charity, which is distributed to local organisations.
