Jazz singer Stacey Kent is taking to the stage at the Gala Theatre in Durham City on Tuesday, October 4 to perform songs from her latest album, Tenderly.
The album sees her return to the familiar ground of The Boy Next Door, her 2003 breakthrough album of jazz standards and classics.
She will perform songs including The Very Thought of You, Tangerine, In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning and Embraceable You as well as other jazz favourites.
Nominated for a Grammy in 2007 for her platinum-selling album Breakfast on the Morning Train, Ms Kent’s back catalogue also includes songs written especially for her by Booker Prize winning novelist Kazuo Ishiguro and her husband, tenor saxophonist Jim Tomlinson.
