A SUITCASE containing items worth £850 has been stolen from a train.

The theft took place on Saturday, June 13, on the 5pm service from Bristol Temple Meads to Edinburgh.

The owner boarded in Bristol and placed a black Ricardo suitcase in a luggage rack in coach F.

CCTV shows a woman, not the owner, leaving the train with the suitcase at Durham.

British Transport Police are investigating the theft and have released an image from the footage showing the woman they would like to speak to.

PC Wayne Brown said: “I believe she may have key information which could assist the investigation.”

The woman is described as having a distinctive hair cut – collar length on top, shaven at the sides and dyed pink.
