HISTORY buffs can play the part of a medieval bishop and take tea in an 11th century palace.
Durham Castle, once home to the Prince Bishops, is launching Afternoon Tea Tours, offering visitors a tour and afternoon tea in the Senate Suite.
The castle is now home to Durham’s University College.
The tours will take in the courtyard, kitchen and buttery, Great Hall, Tunstall Gallery, Tunstall Chapel, famed Black Stairs, Norman Gallery and Norman Chapel.
The first Afternoon Tea Tours will be on Saturday, April 11, at 11.30am and 1.30pm.
Tickets cost £15.50 for adults and £14.50 for pensioners, students and under 16s.
