INDOOR curling swept the floor at an open day marking a new era for a village community centre.
The activity was staged at Quarrington Hill Community Centre, near Durham, at an open day on Saturday, October 4.
The community association took over running the facility from Durham County Council earlier this year and has undertaken a £57,000 refurbishment.
The open day was a chance for villagers to see the improvements for themselves.
Councillor Maria Plews, Durham County Council’s cabinet member for leisure, libraries and lifelong learning, said: “It is great to see all the wonderful work that has been done in creating a first-class community centre for Quarrington Hill.”
