A GUIDE to ethical shopping was unveiled at an event over the weekend.
The new edition of the County Durham Fairtrade Directory was unveiled in St Nicholas' Church in Durham city centre on Saturday.
The directory includes shops, cafes, farm shops, restaurants and museums which sell Fairtrade goods.
The event was organised by Durham City Fair Trade Partnership and the directory was formally introduced by Durham County Councillor Neil Foster and Richard Hodgson of the Durham Area Co-operative Membership Committee.
Pittington Brass Band dropped in unexpectedly after rain stopped play outside and added a special celebratory atmosphere.
Event leader Kathryn Sygrove said: “The event went very well, with many people taking an interest in the stalls and listening to the message about the benefits to producers in developing countries afforded by buying products with the Fairtrade Mark."
The directory is available for the public to view on www.countydurhamfairtrade.org.uk
