A HAULAGE company in north Durham has decorated three of its trailers in support of a life-saving charity.
The helicopters of the Great North Air Ambulance Service rarely leave the region, but will become a common sight around the country thanks to Chris Kilsby, of Hawthorns Logistics in Castleside, near Consett.
He approached the Darlington-based charity about using his long-distance vehicles to promote the charity’s work after one of his drivers saw the service in action three years ago.
Mr Kilsby said: “One of our lads was on the A1 near Belmont when a motorist lost control of his car and crashed into him.
“Being on the roads a lot, we are obviously aware of the work of the air ambulance, but when you see it up close you realise just what an important job it does.”
