STRAUSS and Seventies glam rock are among the highlights as a theatre announces its autumn and winter season.
The Empire Theatre in Consett has revealed details of its programme over the coming months.
Among the live music shows lined up are the Supreme Queen tribute act on September 17, the original line-up of Billy Fury’s backing band The Tornadoes who will perform his hits on October 14 and The Simon and Garfunkel Story on October 21.
Seventies stars The Rubettes, featuring Alan Williams, will take to the stage on October 28.
A Viennese Strauss Gala will take place on Friday, January 27, presenting highlights of some of the great operettas composed by the Strauss family.
Ending the year, the Empire will welcome back panto stalwart Leah Bell and cast for their annual festive production, with Sleeping Beauty running from December 2 to 31.

The cinema will also screen live productions from around the world, including Puccini’s Turandot from Sydney Harbour on September 15 and the 25th anniversary production of Miss Saigon on October 16.
