STAFF at a north Durham chemist are raising money for a seriously ill little boy.

The Well Pharmacy, in Consett, are showing their support to help four-year-old Kian Musgrove.

The youngster, from Newbiggin Hall, near Newcastle, has been battling cancer since he was 18-months-old.

Having exhausted all available treatment options in the UK, Kian and his family have been travelling to the US every two to three weeks to receive ground-breaking treatment that could save his life.

Well Pharmacy, on Middle Street, has been fundraising to help the Caring for Kian campaign over the last six months by hosting a collection box in store and donating all proceeds from their ‘Christmas jumper day’ to Kian and his family.

The team also helped secure Simon Cowell’s £25,000 donation to help Kian.

Store manager Cheryl Hedley said: “We’re proud and honoured to be helping raise money for Kian and are currently hosting a raffle, which will sit by the till all week with all proceeds going to help Kian get to America for the treatment he needs.

“His incredible strength and bravery is an inspiration to all of us within the community.”
