A ROAD is to be closed for five days while roadworks take place.
Albert Road, in Consett, will be closed to traffic starting on Saturday, July 30 while resurfacing takes place.
However, temporary traffic lights will be in place to ensure the Albert Road car park stays open throughout the work.
Brian Buckley, Durham County Council’s strategic highways manager said: “We are carrying out road resurfacing as part of our ongoing maintenance programme at Albert Road in Consett, from 30 July to August 3.
“The work will require a full road closure, with signposted diversion routes in place.
“We’d like to thank the public for their patience while the work is carried out and will complete it and get the road reopen to traffic as quickly as possible.”
