PLANS to be create sports facilities on a north Durham community field have been submitted.
Durham County Council wants to create changing rooms on Bridgehill Playing Fields on Pemberton Road, in Bridgehill, near Consett.
The application will be determined by planning officer Graham Blakey.
Steve Howell, head of culture and sport at the council, said: “The disused community building and attached changing rooms are due to be demolished during the summer.
“This follows concerns raised by both the public and local members over the buildings having become a target for anti-social behaviour since the community association’s decision to move out some time ago.
“We have applied for planning permission to install new changing facilities on the site.”
