A COMMUNITY is continuing to raise money to build a new church hall following a fire.
St John’s Hall in Meadowfield and Carrside youth and community project have organised a community event to celebrate the Queen’s birthday on Sunday, June 12.
The event takes place from 12.30pm at Meadowfield British Legion. Lunch will be served along with birthday cake, games, quizzes and bingo.
Guests are invited to wear fancy dress or red, white and blue.

A parade is also being planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme on Sunday, July 3, leaving from Meadowfield British legion at 10.40 am.
On Friday, July 22, there is a rock and roll night at the Meadowfield Royal British legion from 7pm. Tickets are £3 and available from behind the bar.
So far the community has raised £12,000 and has secured £478,500 towards the £500,000 needed for a new hall.
