A FOOTBALL match between a young people’s charity and a fast food chain is being held this week.
A team from Consett YMCA is taking on a side from McDonald’s in the former steel town on Friday, November 20.
It is being held to raise money for the North-East leukaemia charity, Bright Red.
Money raised will fund the Lee Robson Patient Grants, named in honour of the 35-year-old outdoor centre manager, who died from the disease in 2013.
His father, Billy Robson, the charity’s chief executive, said: “We hope people will support this event and help keep Lee’s memory alive.”
The game will be held at Consett AFC at Delves Lane with kick-off at 8pm. Entry for the match is £2 and the bar will be open.
