ROLL up, roll up, the circus is in town for north Durham youngsters over the school holidays.

Circus Funtasia’s show, Awesome, launched in Consett on Thursday and will run until Sunday, November 1.

It features Bulgarian acrobats performing springboard and trampoline stunts, aerial acts, motorbike foot juggling, a ring of fire and a wheel of death act.

Ring mistress Tracy Jones said: “The show is suitable for all ages and it is professional, friendly fun.

"It is very modern and fast-paced with a fantastic soundtrack

“The show lasts for an hour and 40 minutes with an interval and the people of Consett won’t be disappointed.

“The most common feedback we get when people are leaving is: ‘we weren’t expecting that', ‘that was awesome’, hence the name of the show.”

The heated big top will be in Hownsgill Park on Knitsley Lane, with two performances a day.

Showtimes are 5pm and 7.30pm on weekdays and 5pm and 7.30pm on weekend days.

All seats are £6 on the first day, £8 on Halloween with various prices from £10 to £20 per person depending on where they are in the Big Top.
