A MAN accused of acting aggressively towards a press photographer is to stand trial.

Steven Henley has entered a ‘not guilty’ plea to one charge of threatening behaviour on November 11 at Consett Magistrates’ Court today. (Thursday, December 18)

The incident is said to have happened outside the court.

The 33-year-old, of Ritsons Road, Blackhill, Consett, is to go on trial on February 17 before magistrates.

Henley is also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

The motoring offences relate to allegations of a short police chase in Consett on December 3.

The incident is said to have started near the Villa Real roundabout area and ended on Ashdale Road, near Consett Magistrates Court.

No plea has been entered in relation to the motoring offences, which will be next heard at Durham Crown Court on January 5.

Henley has been granted unconditional bail.
