Bus services are being diverted
A MAIN road in north Durham is to be closed for six weeks to allow a new sewer to be installed.
Front Street in Consett will be closed from today (Monday, April 7) between Derwentside College entrance and Knitsley Lane until May 18.
Once the work has been carried out the road will be resurfaced.
Bus stops on Front Street adjacent to Middle Street and at Derwentside College will not be used and buses will be diverted.
Notices on bus stops will advise passengers from Front Street to catch buses at Consett Bus Station, while the stops near to Derwentside College and Hermiston Retail Park will be advised to use the stops on Genesis Way at Tesco.
