AN alcoholic has been ordered to pay for his all-you-can-eat buffet after he was arrested when he became abusive when his bank card was declined.
Brett McGill pleaded guilty to fraud by misrepresentation and being drunk and disorderly following the incident in Newcastle in November last year.
Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court heard how McGill was heavily drunk and became aggressive and told police officers to 'f*** off' when he was unable to clear his £11.70 bill at the Happiness Inn in Newcastle.
The court heard how McGill knew that his bank card had been cancelled when he ordered his food and drink.
The 28-year-old, of Changing Lives, Plawsworth, near Chester-Le-Street, was given six month conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation of £11.70 to the restaurant.
