CHILDREN with learning disabilities will get extra help in learning how to manage their money.
Integrating Children and Young People is running the project to help children and young people in Durham and Chester-le-Street.
It has been given £5,000 to run the community-based money management programme to help young people learn about budgeting, spending and handling money.
Richard Taylor, chairman of the charity said: “Many disabled children don’t get the chance to manage their own money and never learn the skills to do simple things such as buying a burger.
“Through the support of Santander we hope to develop and implement a scheme which will benefit young people for many years into the future.”
