RESIDENTS have only days left to enter a competition to find a town’s best gardeners.
Entries for the Chester’s Best contest, which aims to celebrate floral displays and environmental improvements in Chester-le-Street, close on Friday.
Categories include best business, best group project to improve an area, best neighbourhood area, best residential garden and best allotment plot.
Judging takes place during August, with an awards ceremony held on Thursday, September 14.
Entry to the competition, run by Durham County Council and Chester-le-Street Area Action Partnership, is free.
Entry forms can be downloaded at durham.gov.uk/civicpride or picked up from the One Point Hub in Burns Green.
Entrants can also email civicpride@durham.gov.uk or call 03000 261 000 to request a postal entry form.
