OFFICERS investigating the death of a Polish man believe he died as a result of a fall, police have said.
The body of 37-year-old Michal Jarzynka was found in an alley near Poplar Street in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, on Monday morning.
He had been injured and was declared dead at the scene by emergency services.
Police launched an investigation, cordoned off the area and spoke to residents.
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “The death of a man whose body was found in Chester-le-Street is being treated as non-suspicious.
“Following the results of a post-mortem, and police enquiries, the death is known not to be suspicious and the circumstances surrounding the death are linked to a fall.
“The man who died has been identified as 37-year-old Michal Jarzynka. His next of kin have been informed.”
