GRANTS of up to £500 are being made available to help community groups celebrate the Queen’s birthday and the Rio Olympics.
Groups in the Chester-le-Street and the surrounding area can now apply for Let’s Join In funding between £100 and £500 to support their own community event.
Grants can go towards supporting community events taking place between April 21 April and September 18 to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday or the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Chester-le-Street and District Area Action Partnership has organised a drop-in session to offer guidance on completing the application as well as more specific guidance around event planning and event safety.
The session will take place on Tuesday, March 22 between 3pm and 6pm at The Bede Room in the Cornerstones Centre for the Community, North Burns, Chester-le-Street.
Applicants have until Tuesday, March 29 to apply for grants.
