A FINANCE company has raised almost £2,500 for a hospice.

Anglo Scottish Asset Finance, based in Chester-le-Street, chose St Cuthbert’s Hospice, in Durham, to receive a donation from Barclays every time the team completed one of the bank’s car finance deals.

The total raised was £2,490.

David Foster, the firm’s managing director, said: “This is the second year running Anglo Scottish have contributed in this quarter four campaign where we proactively increase the numbers to help our nominated charity St Cuthbert’s Hospice receive this donation.”

Kay Carrick, the hospice’s senior donor development fundraiser, said: “We are so grateful to David and everyone at Anglo Scottish Asset Finance for supporting us for the second year in a row.

“St Cuthbert’s Hospice must raise £1.3 million a year to continue providing outstanding palliative care to people affected by life-limiting illness in County Durham.

“We rely on the support of the local community and businesses like Anglo Scottish. It is especially nice to receive a donation like this at Christmas time, the season of goodwill.”
