YOUNG people who staged a play about the life of Holocaust victim Anne Frank have been honoured.
Director Michaela Crawley and the cast of the play, performed at The Hermitage Academy in Chester-le-Street, County Durham on Holocaust Memorial Day in January, have all been made Youth Champions by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.
Certificates were presented at the school yesterday (Monday, July 13) by Sharon Artley, from the Trust.
Miss Crawley said: “I believe it is a great achievement that these young people, like myself, have taken such an interest in helping to prevent prejudice and teach the lessons that can prevent, or at least try to prevent, such atrocities from ever occurring again.”
